Return and Refund Policy
Last updated August 14, 2026
This is the minimum return policy for orders bought from a Meat Tracker shop. The shop named on your order confirmation handles your return. A shop may offer more generous terms on its own policies page. When it does, the more generous terms apply.
Meat is perishable, and that is what makes this policy different from a normal returns policy: once an order has left the shop's refrigeration and been out of the shop's care, it cannot be resold, however good the reason. So the window is short and the remedy is a replacement or a refund, never a return by post.
At a glance
- Check it
- Before you leave the counter, or as soon as a delivery arrives.
- Report window
- Within 24 hours of collection or delivery.
- What is covered
- The wrong cut, short weight, or a quality problem.
- Remedy
- A replacement, or a refund of the affected items.
- Sending it back
- Never by post. The shop tells you whether to bring it in.
- Restocking fee
- None.
- Refund timing
- The shop issues the refund within 5 business days of agreeing it.
Wrong, short, or not right
Contact the shop within 24 hours of collecting or receiving your order if you got the wrong cut, the weight is short of what you paid for, or there is a quality problem. Include your order number and clear photos where you can. The shop will replace the affected items on your next visit or refund them.
The shop may ask you to bring an item back so it can see the problem. Do not post anything to the shop, and never post anything to Meat Tracker.
Orders that cannot be refunded
- Meat that has been out of refrigeration, cooked, frozen, or otherwise handled after it left the shop's care, unless the problem was already there when you got it.
- Special orders and whole-animal cuts, once they have been cut to your instructions. Tell the shop before it cuts if you need to change or cancel.
- A pickup order you never collected, where the shop cut and packed it for the window you chose. Call the shop as early as you can if your plans change.
Missed pickups and late deliveries
A shop holds a collected-in-error order in its cooler for as long as it safely can, and it will tell you how long that is. If the shop misses your window, or a delivery does not arrive, you are entitled to a full refund of that order including any delivery fee.
How to report a problem
- Reply to your order confirmation, call the shop, or use the contact option on the shop's website.
- Include your order number, which items are affected, and photos where something is visibly wrong.
- Agree a replacement or a refund with the shop. Keep the item chilled until they tell you what to do with it.
Refunds
The shop issues an agreed refund to the original payment method within 5 business days. Your bank or card provider may take another 5 to 10 business days to post it.
Cancellations
Contact the shop as soon as possible if you need to cancel. A shop can cancel and refund an order before it starts cutting it, but cancellation is not guaranteed once a special order or a whole-animal cut is under way.
If you need help
Contact the shop first, because it cut and packed your order. If the shop has not replied within 3 business days, send your order number through the Meat Tracker contact page. We will help review the order and reach the shop.
Meat Tracker subscriptions
This order policy is separate from a shop's Meat Tracker subscription. Subscriptions are billed monthly. You can cancel from your dashboard, and your shop stays live through the end of the paid billing period. Partial months are not prorated.
Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law, including food-safety rights.
